Evening on the farm...

A farmer's work is never done. Every evening, before the sun goes down, the farmer must make the rounds to inspect the farm. He starts with a long walk past the fields towards the barn. The farmer brings a few good farm hands to help carry the load.

Then he sets off to start his inspection.

First, the farmer examines the soil.

Then, he runs around the barn, making sure the equipment is put away.

He follows more seasoned footsteps, watching and learning...

Until he knows every step.

Then he takes the lead, inspecting the fields.

At the end of the day, the farmer is tired.
 A farmer's work is hard,
but he has a few good farm hands to help carry the load.

As the sun sets, all is quiet on the farm.

Good night, little farmer.

West Austin Studio Tour

I'm about to bid farewell to this little girl for a couple of weeks. She will be a part of the “Austin SCBWI Illustrators & the Art of' Children’s Books” display at the Twin Oaks Branch Austin Public Library from May 2-17. This is one part of the larger West Austin Studio Tour exhibit going on this month.

I'm a little bit nervous letting my baby go, but I know she'll be in good hands, and she'll get to mingle with all of the other fantastic pieces from a group of very talented artists.

And if you get a chance, stop by and see what is sure to be a wonderful exhibit!
