More Easter Photos

I'm running a little late (who would have thought?), but I'm posting some more pictures from our Easter photo session. We traveled to Georgetown to snap these pictures, and had a lot of fun exploring the town square. We found these beautiful blue and red doors that made a wonderful backdrop for a lot of the shots. Audrie, as usual, jumped into model mode and provided pose after pose for each shot, while Finn spent his time running up and down the sidewalk, trying to open doors, and discovering every little bug, leaf and twig that fell into his path. An unexpected photo op came when we happened to meet a ladybug along the way. She (Ms. Ladybug, that is) seemed to have enjoyed her travels up Audrie's arm, along her face, and taking a leap onto the flower on Audrie's dress. She eventually made her way onto the tips of Audrie's fingers, spread her wings, and flew away. We ended the day with a quick browse through a charming bookstore in the square, where the books in the children's section were arranged based not by author's last name, but by how they related to each other. The books about dogs and cats on a shelf with a toy Labrador, farm life arranged with a tractor and barn, and the princess books next to books about frogs, of course! We left the square romanticizing life in a small town of white picket fences and little shops around the corner, strolling to the cafe on Saturday mornings for breakfast, greeting everyone we meet along the way by name, and Audrie's dressed in a beautiful white dress, handmade by me, and Finn in his overalls with a frog in his pocket, and a bluebird lands on my shoulder to say hello with a beautiful song, and then, inspired by the bluebird, I write and illustrate a children's book which becomes a best seller, and everything is perfect.

Ah, life in a small town.
