Hello again

Hi there blogland! Remember me? No, no I didn’t up and move to Kauai, although I was very, very tempted to do so. I would have to drag my friends and family along, though, because I’d miss them way too much. Kauai was absolutely beautiful. Everywhere you looked you either encountered a gorgeous beach, or a magnificent mountain, plus some of those surfers made for good scenery.

Here’s a pic of us on top of a mountain overlooking a beach.

Yes, the water’s that blue, and yes that is sweat on my husband’s shirt. We hiked the Sleeping Giant, a “fairly easy hike” as some of the locals put it. I think they forget that a bunch of out of shape mainlanders from Texas don’t climb mountains everyday. We made it, though, and were rewarded with a beautiful view from the top.

I have so much more to share with you from our trip, and will soon, but life likes to throw us a few curveballs every once in a while. As soon as we returned from Hawaii, I found out my dad was in the hospital awaiting open heart surgery. He went through the surgery on Friday and is recovering quite well. Needless to say, blogging has not been a top priority lately. I will try to get back in the groove of things and keep this blog updated, but it might be a little while before things get back to normal. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this picture of Ke’e Beach, the northern most point you can drive in Kauai.

Sigh, I want to go back. Y’all with me? Someone, anyone… I know, I know. It’s not practical. Oh well, I tried.

Aloha for now!

We went to Kaui last year. It is so beautiful! I want to go again. Did you get pancakes and coconut syrup? I have dreams about them.
