Jack was used to dry dog food. It was the main staple of his diet. He didn't ever complain. He knew he was lucky, having lived life on the streets for a while, to have a decent meal each day. But, on rare occasions, Jack was rewarded. For what? Was it his loyalty? Was it the fact that he returned the ball every time his owner dropped it? He didn't know.
Jack's ears perked up as he heard the familiar whirring, and he knew that tonight, he was getting his reward. He was getting canned dog food.
Growing up, my dogs were fed mostly dry dog food. But, every once in a while, we gave them the canned stuff, and they always acted as though they were getting a special treat!
This little guy will appear in my shop soon, along with some friends.
Have a good rest of the week!

How cute! And I love the story! :)
Love the colors! Love the pup! I wish my dog loved the sound of a can opener. It drives him nuts for some reason and he spins around barking madly. Hmmmm. Maybe if I associated the can opener with juicy dog food.....!
Lovely dog, a great illo with an effective background.
Aww... this is adorable.
Cute story too!
